Vintage Leonore Doskow Hand Wrought Sterling Leaf Bracelet
Item #12441

Leonore Doskow was a talented silversmith who ran a very successful business producing sterling silver pieces. She became an accomplished silversmith with her early, hand wrought objects which are highly sought after and hard to find. Here we present one of the early bracelets from Doskow created with a lovely leaf motif and featuring with a large clasp classic of the era. Lenore Doskow's career continued to prosper as in 1940, she was honored when the Metropolitan Museum of Art displayed her sugar bowl and creamer set in an Contemporary American Art exhibit. Doskow (and her husband) owned and operated Leonore Doskow, Inc., a jewelry company selling to high-end stores around the country, from 1935 through 1980s. Today, the company is headquartered in Montrose NY and continues to produce Doskow's original designs. Ms. Doskow continued to silversmith into late in life until she died suddenly 2008 at age 97. Her Sterling jewelry is very collectible.

Here is a vintage man's identification bracelet. Popular during the 1960s and 1970s. This ID bracelet is 3/8" wide and 7-1/2" long with a sister hook style clasp. Marked Nickel Silver on the back. Nickel silver is an alloy of nickel, copper, and zinc; and does not contain any Sterling silver but is very durable. This item has light wear on the back (not noticeable from front) and is not engraved. In very good condition. A collectible vintage men' ID bracelet.

Here is an elegant Sterling rhinestone brooch from Carl-Art from Providence, Rhode Island. Marked CA with an arrow through the letters on an applied plate. This mark was first used by Carl-Art in January 1937. Featuring sparkling emerald cut rhinestones anchored on inside border by smaller Chaton cut rhinestones, all prong-set in a Sterling setting. Brooch measures 1-1/2" in diameter. This brooch can be seen on page 127 of Ronna Lee Aiken's book 20th Century Costume Jewelry 1900-1980. Very good condition. From the 1940s, here is a lovely vintage 800 silver bracelet and earrings set with cabochon carnelian colored stones. All the pieces are marked “800”, which is the European mark for 80.0% pure silver, which is a low grade silver (sterling is 92.5% pure silver). The silver work is exquisite – the roses are three-dimensional and the leaves are very detailed. The width of the bracelet is about 20mm (0.80 inch) wide at its widest point, and its length is about 7-3/4". The earrings are clip style (can be converted to pierced by a jeweler, if desired), and measure about 1/2" in diameter. All pieces are in excellent condition, I did note one earring appears somewhat loose, however, the earrings are light and should stay on secure. Add this set to your vintage collection!

From a local Pennsylvania estate. Here is a fabulous vintage Sterling fish brooch. It appears to be very similar to vintage Reja designs-from the Reja Jewelry Company which operated from 1941 until 1952. They specialized in jewelry pieces, especially figural brooches (animals, fish, birds and insects). This fish brooch has the same curves and design as Reja birds and leaping stag brooches that I have seen. Circa 1940s, vermeil (goldwash) over sterling although most of this has worn over time. Very detailed fins and tail, highlighted with crystal Chaton cut rhinestones. The stunning center stone is a faceted oval aquamarine colored stone (unfoiled which allows light to change the intensity of its color). This brooch measures 2-1/3" long x 2" at its widest point. Signed Sterling. In very good condition; exceptional design and workmanship. A welcome addition to any vintage jewelry collection.

The female rag doll brooch is signed Sterling. I could not find a similar mark on the male rag doll brooch however it may be too worn to read. A wonderful vintage Sterling set, very collectible.

The long narrow sections are flat on each end with almost a tube shape in the middle. The necklace measures 16" in length, and has a J clasp closure. Very nice condition, vintage patina however can be polished more if desired. A very unusual vintage necklace, stylish and chic!

This is a lovely unmarked Sterling featuring an ornate umbrella with a Dutch woman figure near the handle. Circa late 1930s. Unusual design with exceptional detail, delicate work from a bygone era. The brooch measures 2" x 1'. Very good condition. This brooch tested as Sterling although I could not locate any marks on the piece. As seen in the book Old Jewelry 1840-1940 by Jeanne Bell, on page 222. A must for collectors!

Striking, with a geometric design abstractly resembling waves and curves-similar to many vintage Mexican designs. Marked 925 on back of one link. Solid construction and weight.
