Dating from the 1940s, this very pretty heart shaped locket is gold-filled. Features a heart shaped locket with wonderful geometric detail on front with a charming heart motif on back. Opens to hold two photographs. Marked inside locket with 1/20-12K Gold Filled Hayward. Locket measures 1" in length and 3/4" width. Vintage at its best!

Victorian 1870-1880 10K Gold Locket

Here is a older photograph locket, circa 1870-1880 when photograph jewelry was given and worn as a act of affection and honor to loved ones. This beautiful locket is made from unmarked gold, (acid tests at 10 ct.). This unusual oval locket measures 1-1/4 x 3/4" and features a floral design front with enamel decoration (taille d' epergne?); backside it a lovely design of reposse flowerss. It opens from the side to reveal two oval photograph sections with rims and celluloid/glass covers included. Unsigned. The locket is in very good condition, with some wear of enamel on the front cover and center pearl. It has a wonderful vintage patina but can be polished if desired. A beautiful nostalgic piece, and sought after by collectors.

Art Deco Gold-filled Locket marked WH Co?

Here is an Art Deco photograph locket, circa 1930s or earlier. Photograph jewelry became popular during the Victorian period; given and worn as a act of affection and honor to loved ones. This round locket measures 7/8" in diameter and features a lovely front cover design, and plain backside. It opens from the side to reveal two round photograph sections. The rim for these sections are present; it is removable and placement of the photographs into the locket is easy (the rim for the other section is missing). Once replaced, the rim secures the photograph in the locket. Marked WH 1/4 Gold Shell, perhaps meaning W&H Co and referring to the Wightman and Hough Company that operated from 1856 to 1922). Similar lockets can be seen in C. Jeannenne Bell's book Answers to Questions About Old Jewelry. The locket is in very good condition, with only light surface scratches. It has a wonderful vintage patina but can be polished if desired. A great estate find.

Victorian 1890-1910 Gold-filled Locket marked W&H Co

Here is a Victorian photograph locket, circa 1890-1910. Photograph jewelry became popular during the Victorian period; given and worn as a act of affection and honor to loved ones. This round locket features a Fleur-de-lis design on one side with brilliants (clear rhinestones) and monogrammed initials on the other side. It measures 1-1/14" in diameter. It opens from the side and can hold two photographs inside however this locket hold two shamrocks (perhaps four leaf clovers). The locket is in very good condition, appears to have been gently used. It has a wonderful vintage patina but can be polished if desired. Probably gold-filled although this piece is not marked to gold content or manufacturer. Marked W&H Co. for Wightman and Hough Company in operated from 1856 to 1922. Similar lockets can be seen in C. Jeannenne Bell's book Answers to Questions About Old Jewelry, pg. 195. The locket is in very good condition, missing one rhinestone (see picture) and only light surface scratches. It has a wonderful vintage patina but can be polished if desired. A beautiful nostalgic piece, and sought after by collectors.

It opens from the side to reveal one round photograph section. The rim of this section is removable and placement of a photograph into the locket is easy. Once replaced, the rim secures the photograph in the locket. Please note, the celluloid is missing from the section although the rim will hold a photograph in place tightly. Marked MFB Co, it is not known when this mark was first used although similar lockets can be seen in C. Jeannenne Bell's book Answers to Questions About Old Jewelry, pg. 197. The locket is in very good condition, with only light surface scratches. The Chaton cut crystal stones are original to the locket; four are gray in color with the center stone deep red. It has a wonderful vintage patina but can be polished if desired. A beautiful nostalgic piece, and sought after by collectors.
